LED Reflector Lamp

ObjectiveLED reflector lamp
The goal of this project is to develop a revolutionary new reflector lamp which offers many advantages over current incandescent reflector lamps, including:

  • three times greater efficiency
  • ten times the rated life
  • greater optical and performance properties
  • use of light emitting diodes (LEDs) to generate the light.

Although LEDs have been commercially available since the late 1960’s, recent dramatic improvements in LED technology have led to white light devices with efficiencies that meet or exceed those of a standard incandescent lamp. This project will build upon these improvements to develop a new type of source for focusing light.
