CFL Table Lamp (Berkeley Lamp)
|
This project is a continuation of the energy efficient table lamp project that produced what is now known as the Berkeley Lamp. The goal in this research and development project will be to develop portable fixture designs and prototypes that specifically address the needs of users and facility managers in hospitality and small office applications. Lessons learned from the research, development, and field testing of the Berkeley Lamp will be used in the development of a new generation of advanced table lamp concepts and prototypes. Scientists at LBNL, in partnership with industry and the utilities, have developed a high performance table lamp system ideally suited to computer and office work environments. This lighting system will increase visibility and user satisfaction while generating a 30-40% reduction in lighting energy use by allowing the overhead lights to be reduced or turned off.
For pricing, availability and product orders, please contact: The research, development, and market transformation activities for the Berkeley Lamp were undertaken by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (US DOE) and the California Energy Commission (CEC) Public Interest Research (PIER) program. Development of the Berkeley Lamp was funded by US DOE and followed from earlier research funded by the CEC PIER program. |
